WALRATH, Mary Ellen Elaine - Of Flint, age 88, died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 1:30pm Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Visitation 1-8pm Sunday and 12:30pm Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mary Ellen was born in Omer, Michigan on February 26, 1928 and was a resident of the Flint area for most of her life before moving to Winter Haven, Florida in 1985. She married Ward Walrath on February 22, 1947 and he preceded her in death on October 13, 2014. Mary Ellen was active in Cubs and Girl Scouts for many years. She was a licensed cosmetologist.
Surviving are children, Vickie Harris, Gary Walrath, Mark and wife Anne Walrath and Clark Walrath;
grandchildren, Denise Griffith, Wendy and husband Vic Periano, Mark Hohn Walrath and wife Jen, Jessica Walrath, Angela Dowell;
great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Periano, Bradon Walrath, Colton Walrath and Ethan Walrath;
sisters, Kay Lewis and Carol and husband Tom Stephanson;
aunt, Eleanor Walrath;
several nieces and nephews and friend, Lori Corsier.
