Jill was born January 31, 1947 in Flint, Michigan to the late Dale and Lois (Torrey) Princing. She grew up in Mt. Morris, Michigan and graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1965. During her school years she met some very special people with whom she maintained close friendships throughout her life. Jill then followed the family teaching tradition and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Michigan – Flint “Go Blue”. She taught elementary classes for Flint Community Schools where she remained until retirement. Jill also obtained a Master’s Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University which aided in the dedicated service she provided to children of the Flint community. She primarily taught at Brownell, Wilkins, Carpenter Road, and Dort Elementary Schools. She loved each and every one of her students.

Jill loved to go on vacation. One of her most memorable trips was traveling to Australia with her parents and siblings for her parents’ 50th anniversary. She loved San Francisco, Las Vegas, and especially enjoyed her weekend summer getaways, fishing in Traverse City. She enjoyed bowling and bowled with her fellow Flint school teacher friends throughout her teaching career and even during retirement. Jill also enjoyed University of Michigan football, collecting camels, art fairs, attending plays and musicals, and playing Bookworm into the wee hours of the morning. She loved Christmas, and everyone always looked forward to getting her Christmas cards in the mail. But most of all, she especially loved shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.

Jill was a routine contributor to the Alzheimer’s Association along with the American Cancer Society. She was a breast cancer survivor and participated in numerous breast cancer walks. Jill had a heart of gold and always loved to donate to charity. She remained grounded to her “hippie” roots all these years and only wanted peace, love and happiness in the world. Jill will always be remembered as a beautiful, independent, free-spirited, optimistic, open-minded and loving woman who always loved her family and friends dearly. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
