BECKMAN, Charles Edward – of Burton, age 85, passed away August 25, 2015 at Maple Woods Manor. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Friday, August 28, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Kyle Dotson and Rev. Harold Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11 AM-8 PM Thursday and 10 AM-12 PM Friday.
Charles was born in Manilla, AR on May 29, 1930, son of the late Jake Harold and Beulah (Harvell) Beckman. He married Rose Mary Jerke on March 22, 1965 in Rochelle, IL. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting, four wheeling, snowmobiling, traveling, working on cars, motorhomes and camping. He worked at F & E Manufacturing for 27 years and Mantex Co. for eight years.
Charles is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rose Mary; son, Charles Beckman of Georgia; daughter, Roseann (Steven) Dalziel of Grand Blanc; granddaughter, Abigail Rose; sister, Lucille Robinson of Flint and extended family; many nieces and nephews; beloved dogs, Bailey and Cuddlebear; special lifelong friends, Pat Holland, Irene Jones, Harold Walsh and many other close friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Harrill Wayne Beckman; brother-in-law, Ben Robinson; friends, Al Holland, Ken Jones and Bobbi Walsh. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Maple Woods Manor in Clio for their thoughtfulness and care of Charles over the last 2 years.
