MONREAL, Fred - Of Columbiaville, age 71, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at McLaren-Lapeer.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 Noon, Monday, May 19, 2014
at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 212 Center Street, Otisville, MI 48463,
Father David Harvey officiating.
Entombment in Flint Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
Visitation 5-8pm Saturday and 1-8pm Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, 48507. A Vigil Service will be held 7pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Monreal will be at the church 11am Monday until the time of the Mass.
Fred was born in Flint on November 6, 1942, the son of Fernando and Jean Monreal. On July 25, 1964 he married Helen Turner. He was a longtime member of St. Agnes in Flint and a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Otisville. He was employed for 38 years with Solomon and Son Sheet Metal. Fred also proudly co-owned Kings Landing Campground in Columbiaville. His larger than life personality and sense of humor will be missed by every life he has touched.
Surviving are loving wife and best friend, Helen;
son, Gordon (Dawn) Monreal;
daughter, Bridget (Glenn) Hatfield;
grandchildren, Alisha (Tony) Thompson, Lance Courts and Heather Monreal;
great-granddaughter, Clair Thompson;
sisters, Janis (Mike) Vest Renae (Max) Bell, Lorie (Bob) Running, Starr, Kellie, Tyann Monreal;
brothers, Mark and Mickey Monreal;
also very special extended family, Peggy and the late Joe Piechura and family;
several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Jean (Gordon) Jarvais and Fernando (Marge) Monreal and brother Marty.
