GRANGER (SPENCER), DOROTHY MAE – Of Flint, age 94, died Monday, July 1, 2024 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the
Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Justin Rose officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Hillside Church or Hospice.
Visitation 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2024 and 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024 until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the Swartz Funeral Home, 122 West Hill Road, Flint.
Dorothy was born in Au Gres, Michigan on August 19, 1929, the daughter of the late Herbert and Mabel Lohr.
She married Edwin Spencer on October 19, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1992. She later married Louis Granger on October 4, 1997 and he preceded her in death in 2008.
She was a member of Hillside Church.
She loved baking wedding cakes, gardening and spending time with her family.
Surviving are 3 children, Diane Jaskiewicz,
Vickie Spencer wife of Gary,
Carolyn Spencer wife of Timothy;
2 step-children, Benjamin and wife Mary Granger, Martha and husband Tony Gibson;
13 grandchildren;
17 great-grandchildren;
12 great-great-grandchildren;
sister, Geraldine Smithingel;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her 2 sons, Gary and Timothy; 5 brothers; 2 sisters and best friend, Elsie Maser.
