Temple E. Clapp

Age 76 of Owosso passed away Thursday, December 05, 2013.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Monday, December 9, 2013 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Reggie Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 to 8pm and Sunday from 2 to 8pm.

Temple was born February 17, 1937 in Flint, the son of Franklin and Edna (Anderson) Clapp.

He attended High School in Flint, Michigan, was a member of Gilead Baptist Church and served in the Michigan National Guard from 1954-1958.

Temple was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a NASCAR fan and taught Hunters Safety for several years. Temple was a family man and looked forward to spending time with his family and friends.

He married Sharon Santa on December 3, 1960 in Flint, Michigan.

Temple retired from General Motors after 49 years of service.

He is survived by his daughters Mona (Richard) Mitosinka and Laura (Ronald) Eastman; sons Steven (Lisa) Clapp and Michael (Mary) Clapp; 7 grandchildren Ryan and Ashley Mitosinka, Temple and Dillon Clapp, Megan (Jeff) Poll, Kevin Povlo and Aaron Clapp; 3 great-grandchildren Madison, Brendon and Reagan; brother Timothy Clapp and sisters Joann (Ed) Burk and Diana (Charles) Wirsing.

Temple was predeceased by his wife Sharon,parents and brother Tyrone Clapp.
