Morgan, Sammy J. "Sam" – of Clio, age 68, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at McLaren – Flint. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Community Church of God – 1215 W. Vienna Rd. in Clio. Pastor Jim Horn officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive visitors at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Monday from 1-8 PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Church of God.
Sam was born February 5, 1948, in Kennett, Missouri to the late Joseph and Bernice (George) Morgan. He had resided in the Clio area most of his life. Sam was a U.S. Army, Vietnam war veteran. He married Jane Bellinger on June 26, 1976. He was retired from MTA and was a longtime member of the Community Church of God in Clio.
Surviving are: Wife, Jane; 4 children: Brad (Shelly) Morgan of Swartz Creek, Rebecca (Robert) Hallandal of Flushing, Eric (Dawn) Morgan of Millington, and Samuel (Angela Skym) Morgan of Clio; 10 grandchildren: Jeff, Stephen, Mason, Sidney, Hannah, Elijah, Alexander, Sarah, Dakota, and Chloe; 8 siblings: Alice Stephen, Earline Bloom, Phyllis Stadler, Sandra Stadler, Mark Morgan, Paula Salem, Martha Pippert, and Jeff Morgan; Sam was also preceded in death by his brother, Duane.
