Wichmann, Allan John of Fenton, age 81, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
Memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at NewLife Community Lutheran Church, 7235 Torrey Road, Swartz Creek, MI; Pastor Matthew Hein officiating.
Visitation will be held at 10:30am Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the church until the time of the service.
Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Medical Team Hospice.
Al was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 23, 1943, the son of the late Werner and Alice (Diersen) Wichmann. He spent his childhood years in Illinois and Michigan, and the majority of his adult life in Anaheim, CA and then Charlotte, NC.
On December 10, 1998 he married Jennifer Joy in Santa Ana, CA; she preceded him in death earlier this year.
Al was a Personnel Director at the ACDelco Battery Plant in Anaheim, CA for most of his career.
Al was very social and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He loved to be outdoors on the water fishing and boating. He enjoyed baseball and hockey. He was an avid Civil War and World War II history buff, and a challenging opponent in any trivia game. Al also took pride in maintaining his beautifully landscaped yard.
Above all else he loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are children, Kristin (Andrew) Rathaus and Jeff (Clara) Wichmann;
step-children, Karin Tuthill, Juli Fitzsimmons and Lori (John) Wybraniec;
grandchildren, Taylor Tuthill, Sydney Parker, Jacob Tuthill, Emma Rathaus, Bret Rathaus, Lindsay Wichmann, Ian Wybraniec and Jack Wybraniec;
great-grandchildren, Cohen and Roman Parker;
2 brothers, James (Doris) Wichmann and John (Diane) Wichmann;
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Wichmann.
