Robert L. LaBean, age 68, of Mayville, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
Robert was born December 26, 1955, in Pontiac, Michigan to Benjamin and Peggy Sue (Hickman) LaBean. He attended Clawson High School. Bob went on to serve his country in the US Army Reserves for 8 years. He married Sheri Rae Whitmer on April 21, 1979, in Troy, Michigan. Bob was a gifted mechanic for nearly 40 years. He worked for many businesses through the years and particularly enjoyed his time at Suski Chevrolet and Hagopian Carpet Cleaners. In his spare time Bob could be found outdoors – hunting in his younger years and fishing his entire lifetime. He dabbled in gold mining and was really up for any adventure as long as it was outside. Above all, Bob loved simple times spent with his family – he LOVED his grandbabies.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sheri LaBean; children: Tracy LaBean of North Carolina, Robert “Jason” (Andrea) LaBean of Freeland and Jordan (Shadai) LaBean of Mayville; mother, Peggy Sue LaBean of Houghton Lake; four grandchildren: Jessica, Lillian, Grace and Ben; six great grandchildren; siblings: Terry LaBean of Roscommon and Dave LaBean of Houghton Lake. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Mike LaBVean and Dan LaBean and his aforementioned father.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. No formal service will take place at this time.
