PREISEL, Rheta A. – of Davison, age 81, passed away March 7, 2015 at The Pines of Burton Memory Care, surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of her life will be held at 12 NOON Saturday, March 28, 2015 at First Baptist Church, 208 E. 4th St., Davison; Pastor Chris Radcliffe officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or First Baptist Church.
Rheta was born in Flint, MI on January 24, 1934, daughter of the late David and Helen (Jeske) Bicknell. She married Graydon Preisel in Imlay City on February 11, 1956 and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2000. Rheta was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Davison. She worked for Dr. Boleslaw Pietruszka as a medical assistant for many years. Rheta was a sweet, compassionate, caring and generous person. She was a loving wife, mother and dedicated grandmother.
Rheta is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Tom) Chedister; daughter-in-law, Alison (Hank) Preisel-Austhof; grandchildren, Megan and Molly Preisel, Emily and Adam Chedister; great-grandchildren, Sydney and Keith Wesley, Thomas Chedister; brother, Donald (Gladys) Bicknell of Attica, MI; many loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Perry in 1998. The family would like to express their appreciation to the caregivers at McFarlan Home, The Pines of Burton Memory Care and Hospice and to many friends from the First Baptist Church for their visits, cards and prayers.
