Deneen, William of Flushing, age 89, died Monday, September 3, 2018, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2018, at Rossell Funeral Home. Nephew, Larry Elder will officiate. Burial will follow at Bendle Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Flushing Area Senior Center.
William was born in Flint, Michigan on September 2, 1929, the son of Robert and Arlean (Coupland) Deneen. He married Diane Fox on July 11, 1987. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a life member and Past Commander of Flushing V.F.W. Post 5666 and a member of the American Legion Post 283, Durand Eagles Arie 3187 and the Flushing Area Senior Center. Bill retired from Flint Metal Fab after 44 years. He was an avid bowler and an accomplished horseman.
Bill is survived by his wife, Diane Deneen; children, Greg and wife Edith Deneen, Darci and husband Rick Hurst, Bethany and husband John Kelley, Debbie and husband Brian Smith, Angela Fox, Teresa and husband Brad Griffin; grandchildren, Caci, Johnny, Jared, Sheri, Mallory, Julia, Connor, Emma, Bryce, Baker; two great-grandchildren, John, Briggs; siblings, Roberta Tietz, Carole Cowden, James and wife Judy Deneen, Charlotte and husband Rob Millensifer; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
