Dennis (Denny) Allen Hadfield, 80, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his home on March 25, 2025. Born on October 11, 1944, in Flint, Michigan, to Clarence James Hadfield and Alfreda (Byrd) Hadfield, who instilled in him the values of service, hard work and integrity.

Denny proudly answered his country’s call by serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where his courage and commitment were evident throughout his service. His time in the military instilled in him a deep sense of duty and discipline that carried over into all aspects of his life.
After returning, Denny built a successful career as a Supervisor at Buick City, General Motors, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering integrity earning the respect of his colleagues and community. He was a man who took pride in his work and always gave his best to any task he undertook.

Denny was a devoted family man. He married the love of his life, Gail (Sawinska) Hadfield, on June 12, 1965. They will be married 60 wonderful years, this year. Together they built a life of love and cherished memories. He was the proud father to Wendy and Thom. He cherished every moment with his family and friends.

In his free time, Denny enjoyed boating and building things. He had a great passion for helping people and found great joy in sharing his skills with family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Gail; his children, Wendy and Thom, his siblings, Gale, Ted (Kathy), Ed (Vicki), Charmaine (Dan), and Darlene; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence James and Alfreda.

A celebration of Denny’s life will be held at a later date. The family requests that if you wish to honor his memory, donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or the Veteran’s organization of your choice.

Denny’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his legacy of service and dedication will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
