Johnson, James A. (Giannopoulos) - Age 84, of Davison, died June 18, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, June 21 at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 2245 E. Baldwin Rd., Grand Blanc, Fr. Angelo Maggos officiating. Entombment at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation 5-8 PM Wednesday with 7 PM Trisagion service at the church. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. James was born August 29, 1933 in Greece the son of Athanasious and Athena (Kotsakis) Giannopoulos. He graduated from high school and the State Police Academy in Greece. He had served in Parliament as Secret Service to the Prime Minister. He was in the Restaurant business for many years with Greek American Restaurant in Monroe, MI. Surviving are: wife of 63 years Denise; children, Althena Felhandler of West Bloomfield, Costa (Nancy) Anagnostopoulos of Flint, Nikolas (Anna) Anagnostopoulos of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Ari Felhandler of West Bloomfield, Jimmy (Rhonda) Anagnostopoulos of Fenton, Billy (Evelyn) of Chicago, Alexis Thompson of Atlanta; four great-grandchildren, Zoe, Nikolas, Kathrine, and Nina; brothers, John Johnson, George (Vaso) Giannopoulos; sister in law, Dimitra Giannopoulos of Greece .
