PURVES, Charles Lloyd Jr., - of Clio, age 79, died Saturday, September 30, 2017, at his residence with family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Owosso. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 5PM until 7PM and on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Charles was born February 13, 1938, in Owosso, Michigan, to the late Charles Lloyd and Lois Marguerite (Norton) Purves Sr. He graduated from Owosso High School in 1955. Mr. Purves was a Die Design Engineer with General Motors for 44.4 years before retiring in 2001. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, collecting coins, and maintaining his home. He was a master gardener and food processor. Above all, Charles loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children: Charles Lloyd(Shelly) Purves III, Randall William Purves, Kelly Scott Purves, Melanie Ann (Greg) Weidmayer, and Jason Clair (Brenda) Purves; 8 grandchildren: Joel Todd (Shari) Purves, Matthew David Purves, Nicole Leigh Purves, Kaylee Ann Purves, Kourtney Rachael Purves, Luke Michael Purves, Alena Ann Weidmayer, and Emma Kate Weidmayer; Brothers: William Edwin Purves, and Thomas Eugene (Janet) Purves.
