JOHNSON, Mildred – Of East Tawas, formerly of Flint, age 100, died Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Tawas Village Assisted Living in East Tawas.
Funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Visitation 10 a.m.-12 noon and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mildred was born in St. Elmo, Tennessee on March 12, 1916.
She married Clifford L. Johnson in Flint in 1939.
She was a member of Eastern Star and volunteered for many years with the American Red Cross.
She loved knitting, afghaning and traveling.
Surviving are children, Norma Salerno of Allen Park,
Gloria Clevers of Florissant, Colorado,
Beverly and husband Donald Roy McFaul of National City, Michigan;
grandchildren, Janell McFaul of St. Cloud, Florida,
Terri Gibson of Kettering, Ohio,
Sheryl Champine of Davison,
Tracie Clevers of Washington,
Victor Salerno of Georgia,
Bobby Salerno, Jeanne Salerno, Ann Marie Graves and Mary Zuke, all of Allen Park;
many loving great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;
many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, in 1998.
