Brantley, Otto V. of Flushing , formerly of Lovells, age 88, died Saturday, Febraury 17, 2018, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Gary Hopp will officiate. Burial will follow at Bendle Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Lovells Community Chapel.
Otto was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 4, 1930, the son of Otto and Muriel (Brubaker) Brantley, Sr. He married Dolores Gregory and together they had four children, Glenn, Karen, Allan, and Anne. He later married Darlene Adams on February 18, 1984. Otto proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Sears Roebuck as a Credit Manager, retiring after 38 years. Otto was an avid outdoorsman who loved his home on the north branch of the AuSable River where he enjoyed bowling and hunting, but his passion was fly fishing, even tying his own flies. He was an active member of Lovells Community chapel, serving as an Elder. Otto was also a member of Lovells Hook and Trigger Club.
Otto is survived by his wife of 34 years, Darlene; children, Glenn (Dionne) Brantley, Karen (Mark) Drakage, Allan Brantley, Anne (Dale) Covy; step-children, John (Jackie) Amrhein, Carol (Mike) Walczak, Lisa (Noe) Pena; grandchildren, Stacey, Lauren, Erin, Neal, Emily, Sarah, Scott, Sean, Joel, Nora, John, Joshua, Andy, Daniel, Sarah, Anna, Jennifer, Rick, Jason, Melissa, Gabriel; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Brantley; childhood friend, Bob (Annajean) Chapman; and many beloved friends from Lovells Community Chapel and Grayling Senior Bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Nathan Amrhein.
