Wilma was born in Biggers, Arkansas on October 31, 1929, the daughter of the late Johnny and Hattie (Edington) Cox. On February 11, 1960, she married Paul A. Wilcenski in Angola, Indiana. Wilma worked for General Motors for 36 years at Turnstedt Fisher Body Coldwater Road, retiring in 1991. She was a proud union member of the UAW and was also a member of the Church of Christ.

Wilma-Jean was a life-long member of the “Mi casa es su casa” and the “I am my brother’s keeper “clubs. In the day when neighborhoods meant being a neighbor Mom did what you are supposed to do – take care of each other - When Jan needed her tea; when a family needed a visit from Santa; when Sarah needed someone to sit by her bed; and there was always a seat at her table and plenty to go around. Lucky were those who happened upon that table the day she was frying chicken. What a cook! She was a member of the Church of Christ going forward often to complete the 3 X5 card asking for the prayers of the congregation because she didn’t go to church like she should. She raised a lot of kids, many kids, way beyond her own.

Surviving are children, Brenda Clark, Helen (Paul Garson) Wilcenski, Paul (Starla) Wilcenski, and Lisa (George) Kanyuh;

9 grandchildren, Tiffany, Aron, Corey, Jennifer, Ashley, Blaise, Averi, Hannah, and George and 8 great-grandchildren;

sister, Helen; brother J.W.;

sisters-in-law, Rose, Barbara Ellen and Barbara;

many nieces, nephews and cousins;

and beloved neighbors and friends, Billie and Ireland McPherson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A., her brothers, Leo, Cleo and Rick; sister, Millie and aunts, and son-in-law, Ron Clark.

Special thank you to caregivers, great-granddaughter, Chloe Palovich, special granddaughter, Shaundra Nunnery and granddaughter, Ashley Garson.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me. ’Matthew 25: 35-40.
