Donald Joseph Gioventu, age 75 of Flint, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019. He was born on May 18, 1944 in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada to parents James Vincent and Evelyn Maria (Lebreux) Gioventu. When he was 12 years old he immigrated to the United States. Donald retired from General Motors after 42 years of service. He was a volunteer at the VFW Hall in Clio, and he enjoyed playing cards and traveling up north. Donald is survived by his children: Lisa Gioventu and Jason (Stephanie) Gioventu; grandchildren: Olivia Sue Gioventu and Landon Joseph Gioventu; brother, John Gioventu; and niece, Angela (Eric) Armstrong. He was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Susan Gioventu. A funeral service will be held at 4pm on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing. The family will receive visitors on Thursday beginning at 12pm until the time of service. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to the family or the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to give special thanks to Medical Team Hospice and Mission Point of Holly for their continuous care and compassion. |
