Russell was born in Flint, MI on May 5, 1954, son of the late George and Lucille (Cummings) Jack. He was a graduate of Kearsley High School Class of 1972. On October 24, 1981, Russell married Barbara Foster in Flint, MI. Russell dedicated 33 years of his life in service to General Motors, retiring in 2008. Russell's journey through life was illuminated by simple pleasures and boundless love, leaving a trail of warmth and fond memories in his wake. He found joy in the gentle rituals of daily life, whether it was the comforting embrace of a steaming cup of coffee, the delectable flavors shared at Starlite Diner and Coney Island, or the exhilarating hum of his John Deere tractor 50 series as he traversed the land he cherished. His spirit of adventure knew no bounds, as evidenced by his passion for motorcycles, snowmobiles, and the cherished memories he made behind the wheel of his beloved 1973 Dodge Charger. Yet amidst the whirlwind of excitement, Russell found solace in the timeless serenity of his grandparents' farmhouse in Lincoln, MI, where the tranquility of rural life enveloped him in its gentle embrace. Russell's connection to nature was profound, reflected in his love for hunting, the tender care he showered upon his family's pets, and the meticulous attention he devoted to his model trains and the lush expanse of his lawn. But perhaps his greatest joy came from the moments spent in the company of his beloved family, each shared laugh and tender embrace a testament to the depth of his love.
Russell is survived by his wife, Barbara Foster-Jack; 2 children, Andrew P. Jack and Amanda M. Jack; sister, Kathleen Jack; brother-in-law, David P. (Becky) Foster; sister-in-law, Paula (Steve) Carlson; special friends, James Gunter, Rich Renshaw, Kevin Burge, Tina Jacob and Lynne Stewart; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucille Jack; parents-in-law, Donald and Julia Foster.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Starlite Diner and Coney Island, whose unwavering love, friendship, and kindness provided comfort and solace throughout the years.
