MATTES, Patricia – of Clio, age 86, went peacefully to be with her Lord on August 5, 2024. A memorial service will be held in honor of Patricia at 2PM on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 12PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Patricia was born April 16, 1938, to the late Melvin and Grace Zeuschel. She attended Mercy High School in Detroit where she received her high school diploma with the class of 1956, and proudly worked as a school bus driver for Clio Community Schools from 1969 until 1989. Patricia shared 16 years with her husband, Richard Beckman. Richard preceded her in death in 2001. She later married Fred Mattes, and together they shared 43 years of marriage. Fred preceded her in death in 2008. Patricia was a former member of SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio for many years. In her spare time, Patricia enjoyed playing computer games. She loved her family dearly, especially her furry companions, and cherished every moment spent with those dear to her heart. Patricia was a wonderful woman who can never be replaced and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Patricia is forever remembered by her Children: Ric (Leslie) Beckman, Ken (Kathy) Beckman, Debi (Tom) Wilcox, Kim (Terry) Coraham, Kerry (Mary Jo) Beckman, and Wendy (Tom) Scharrer; 16 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren; Siblings: Kathy Kirkpatrick, Michelle (Dale) Kandt, and Sally (John) Flanagan; Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and beloved friends. Patricia was preceded in death by her Parents, Melvin and Grace; Nephew, John Kirkpatrick; Brother, John Zeuschel. |
