BOGNAR, Therese M.- of Flint, age 78, died Friday, June 27, 2014 at McLaren of Flint. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Stan Bognar officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-9 PM and Thursday from 9 AM until the time of service at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
Therese was born November 16, 1935 in Detroit to the late Stanley and Helen (Goodes) Snippes. She graduated from St. Francis Xavier High School in Ecorse, and then attended Art School. Therese married George Bognar on May 4, 1957; he preceded her in death on April 13, 2002. She formerly worked at the Clio Convalescent Center and the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth. Therese was a member of the Inner City Christian Outreach where she helped at the mission and made floral arrangements at the church. She enjoyed making arts and crafts, crocheting, sewing, dog grooming and cake decorating. She was a lover of birds and plants.
Surviving are: children: Sherry (Walter) Haines of St. John's, Newfoundland, Dorothy Bognar of Goodrich, George (Marcia) Bognar II of Plumas Lake, CA, Maggie Thomas of Flushing, Gena Bognar of Flint, Kenny (Ann) Bognar of Croswell, Stan (Jaime) Bognar of Millington; grandchildren, Sean, Tonya, George III, Kyle, James, Zach, Lizzie, Jenett, Ibra, Abigail, Isabelle; great-grandchildren, Logan, Lydia, Eliza, Sylar, Xayden, Alex, Alejandro; sister, Dorothy (Bud) Ransford of Flatrock; many nieces and nephews.
