Roy Franklin Pugh, age 83, of Flint, passed away Friday, November 4th, 2011 at Crestmont Nursing Care Center, Fenton. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Mowen Funeral Home - William A. Scarlett Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Anthony Ferrill officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
Roy was born in Auburn Hills, Michigan on March 14, 1928, the son of the late Charles Edward and Talitha (Lambert) Pugh. He served in the U.S. Army as a Pvt in WW II. He was discharged when the Army discovered he was only 17 years old. Roy worked in skilled trades at GM-Buick Motors in Flint. His love of cooking lead him to work at various Flint area restaurants as well. He loved to read books, especially westerns.
Roy is survived by: brothers, Norbert Pugh of Owosso and Norman Pugh of South Boardman, Michigan; brother-in-law, Calvin Brown of Fenton; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Wesley in 1973; nephew Rolly in 2009; twin brother Rolly in 2010; sisters, Pearl Wallace in 2007 and Florene Brown in 2009.
