MARTINEZ, Ruben. - of Clio, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in Acapulco, Mexico. A memorial service will be held at 11AM Friday, January 18, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadeloupe Catholic Church – 2316 W. Coldwater Rd., in Flint. Rev. Paul Donnely officiating. Ruben was born June 14, 1949 in Weslaco, Texas to Antonio and Cristina (Moncillas) Martinez. He attended Beecher High School. Ruben retired from Buick as a skilled tradesman with 30 years of service. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Bronze Star. Ruben enjoyed kayaking, exercising, and playing sand and indoor volleyball. He was quite the carpenter and enjoyed building his houses. Left to cherish his memory are: Wife, Juanita; Adopted son, Jesus; Precious daughter, Sofia; Loving mother, Cristina; Siblings: Armando, Consuelo, Ricardo, Pablo, David, Eduardo, and Jose. Ruben was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Infant Francisca, and Francisca in 2009; Father, Antonio; Brother in law, Al Davis; 3 uncles; 2 Aunts.
