Sandra Lee Skinner, age 82 of Swartz Creek, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. She was born on June 18, 1936 in Ovid to parents Paul and Alice (MAIDEN NAME) Nester. Sandra worked for GM for 36 years and was a member of the UAW Local 659. She enjoyed square dancing, wood carving, and her flowers. She loved spending time with her family, and she and her husband enjoyed traveling together and visited all 50 states and several different countries. For 26 years they spent their winters together in Pharr, Texas. Sandra is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas Skinner; daughter, Cheryl (David) Hager; grandchildren: Jennifer (Travis) Mitchell and Jason Hager; great grandson, Hunter Mitchell; siblings: Marcie (Darwin) Wheeler and Greg (Rita) Nester; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Benedict; and her nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents. A funeral service will take place at 1pm on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and again on Monday prior to the service, beginning at 10am. Entombment at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to Leader Dogs for the Blind (www.leaderdog.org). |
