Rosetta G. Bennett of Flushing, age 83, passed peacefully Saturday, March 19, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Adrian Eising and Pastor David Koll will officiate. Cremation will follow the services with burial later at Greenwood Cemetery in Marion, MI. Visitation will be from Noon-8 p.m. Wednesday. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Christian Reformed Church.
Rosetta was born in Marion, MI on July 14, 1927, the daughter of George Augustus and Maggie Elsie (MacLaughlin) Weller. She married John Bennett in Marion, MI on October 1, 1944. He preceded her in death on August 14, 1971.
Rosetta had worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Walter Winchester and Genesee Memorial Hospitals and for Kelly Home Care. She then performed private home care. She was a member of Good Shepherd Christian Reformed Church. She was a former member of Carman-Ainsworth Senior Center.
Rosetta is survived by: four children, Barbara J. Newman of Flushing, Peggy A. Schwartz of Traverse City, Kathy S. and husband James Valasek of Flushing, David R. and wife Sharon Bennett of Flushing; seven grandchildren, Brent and wife Tonya Prim, Kelly Ignace, Scott Valasek, Christopher and wife Amy Schwartz, Brian and wife Alison Valasek, John G. Bennett, Grace Bennett; seven great-grandchildren, Courtney and Anja Ignace, Jacob and Tyler Prim, Magdelena Valasek, Ella and Sophie Schwartz; sisters, Anna Jean Sargent of Springport, Agnes Lucas of Grand Rapids, Bessie Bazuin of Marion; nieces and nephews.
Her parents and several siblings also preceded her in death. |
