KINZIE, Bruce Allen (Al) of Burton, age 82, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sunday, December 15, 2019. Al was born in Flint, Michigan, on August 25, 1937. He was the son of the late Chester and Bernice (Miller) Kinzie of Flint, MI. Al grew up in Grand Blanc, MI, and joined the United States Marine Corp in 1958. He served his country for 4 years both here and overseas. He was joined in marriage to JoAn Skripy on April 11, 1964 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Wilmot, Michigan. Al had resided in the Burton area since the 1970’s. Al retired with 40 years of service as a Journeyman Electrician at the GM Flint Truck Assembly plant.
Al and JoAn spent over three decades as summer-time residents of Leisure Lake in Durand, MI. Al always enjoyed sharing his lake experience with his family through boating, fishing, grilling his famous burgers, and other lake celebrations. He was a kind, gentle, and generous person who always loved his family. He leaves in this world to cherish his memory his children: Annie & Joe Hansen of Davison, MI and Allen & Jaime Kinzie of Westerville, OH; grandchildren: Christopher and JoAnna; beloved brother and sister-in-law: Phillip and Shirley Kinzie; sister: Maxine Kinzie, and sister-in-laws: Rosemary Kinzie, Mary (Skripy) Kozan, and Tollice Skripy. Al also left numerous nephews and nieces who will cherish their memories of him with joy and love.
Earlier this year, he lost his beloved wife JoAn after 55 years of marriage. Also preceding him in death are his loved ones, brothers: Charles and Donald, brother-in-laws: Steve Skripy and Andrew Louis Kozan; and sister-in-laws: Shirley (Lee) Kinzie and Shirley (Skripy) Hayward.
We are grateful for the compassion shown at Stonegate Health Campus and Kindred Hospice services, especially Sherry, Kim, Nicole, Patty, and all others who helped Al during this time. Al has left his gentle mark on this world.
