GILLESPIE, Alpha Junior – Grand Blanc, formerly of Flint, age 95, died Monday, August 20, 2012 at Caretell in Linden.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Humane Society of Genesee County or Adopt A Pet.
Alpha was born in Mundy Township on September 12, 1916 and was a resident of the Flint area all of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Gillespie was employed by AC Spark Plug Division for 35 years, retiring in 1981.
Surviving are daughter, Gail and husband Roger Stolpin of Holly; brother, Norman L. and wife Pat Gillespie of San Diego;
Sister-in-law, Georgina Gillespie of Grand Blanc;
Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, in 1999, brother, Keith Gillespie and sister-in-law Phyllis Borror and husband George Borror.
