REID, James Baxter – of Davison, MI, age 81, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 6 PM Friday, September 1, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Mr. Al Whiting officiating. The family will receive visitors 4-6 PM Friday, September 1, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.
Jim was born in St. Joseph Hospital, Flint, MI on April 21, 1936, son of the late Edwin and Marie (Baxter) Reid. Jim resided in Davison his entire life with his wife, Ann, who preceded him in death on June 29, 2015. He was a 1958 graduate of Albion College. Upon graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Jim married Ann Coakes on August 29, 1959. He was a member of the Davison Country Club and one of the original members of the Tuesday Night Late League, in which he played until his death.
Jim is survived by 3 children, David Reid, Karen Reid (Dan Patterson) and Lori Reid; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Neumann (Brian Richards), Jacob (Ellen) Reid, Abby Neumann, Kelsey Reid and Georgi Neumann; great-granddaughter, Olive Marie as well as many other loving family members and friends.
