CAREY, Robert Lenard – Of Flint, age 80, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Seth Ferguson officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery 10am Monday, April 3, 2017.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church in Flushing.
Visitation 5-9 p.m. Friday and 10am Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Robert was born in Flint, Michigan on June 28, 1936, the son of the late William and Pearly (Gean) Carey.
He served in the U.S. Marines from 1954-1957 and was proud to have been a Marine.
Robert was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Robert was employed by the GM Plant in Grand Blanc, retiring in 1992.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Carey;
three sons, Steve (Kim) Carey,
David (Donna) Carey and Paul (Jessie) Carey;
daughter, Rebecca Carey;
grandchildren, Leah (Oscar) Gamboa,
Emily (Tim) King,
Ashley (Rodney) Breeding,
Melissa (David) Williams, Meagan (Greg) Foster,
Michael (Jessica) Carey, Jonathon (Shelbey) Carey and Christopher Carey;
11 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by mother, father, step-father; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
