SALEM, Said M. - Of Flint, age 67, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at McLaren-Flint.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church 4133 Calkins Road, Flint,
Father Paul Tarabay officiating.

Burial in Flint Memorial Park

Visitation 4-8pm Sunday and Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10 am Tuesday at church until the time of the Mass.

Said was born in Beit She’an, Palestine on February 6, 1945 and immigrated to the United States in 1970. Said was a retired business owner, father, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather, cousin and a beloved friend to many. Flint has lost a good friend to the community, and Heaven has gained a great soul. Said was known for his generosity and his compassion and it is with great sadness we say goodbye.

Surviving are wife, Joyce Salem;

daughters, Joyce (Salem) Lee and husband Carey Lee, Genette (Salem) Macko and husband Lanny Macko, Amanda Salem;

nephew, Matthew Salem;

grandchildren, Zachary Belmonti, Bradley Lee, Alexandra Lee, Raphael J. Lee, Cody Sprouse, Cameron Macko, Caden Macko;

brothers, Brahiem Salem, Farid Salem, Suheil Salem, Hanni Salem;

sisters, Suad (Salem), Lorice (Salem), Jamoul (Salem).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michel Salem and Alexandra Salem and brother, Edward Salem
