ASHFORD, Jeffery William -- Age 93, of Grand Blanc, died May 14, 2015. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday May 18, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 3-5 PM and 6-8 PM Sunday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Jeffery was born September 24, 1921 in Birmingham England and immigrated to the United States with his parents, William and Beatrice (Mitchell) Ashford. He graduated from Flint Central High School in 1940 and attended GMI. On July 1, 1944 Jeffery married Mae Logan. Mae preceded him in death in 2008 after 64 years of marriage. He retired from AC SparkPlug in 1974 with 34 years of service (including 28 years in Product Engineering as a draftsman). He owned and operated Ashford Photography from 1949-2004.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Pamela Stead of Grand Blanc, Gwen (Larry) Acheff of Schererville IN, Jill (Mike) Yambrick of Auburn MI; 7 grand children, Valerie Stead-Potsos (Pete) of Dexter MI, Brian (Wendy) Stead of Palm Desert, CA, Jack (Heather) Stead of Chicago IL, Michael Yambrick and Jennifer Geitman (Caregiver) of Sanford MI, Melanie Plum of Littlefield Lake, MI, Ben Acheff of Valapraiso, IN, Heather (Chad) Schweitzer of Portage IN; 4 great grandchildren; good friend, Eleanor Koepke.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mae; son-in-law, Jack Stead
