JONES, Marcia A. (Tune) - Of Clio, age 75, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Dave Gerber officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the family.
Visitation 5-8pm Thursday and 11am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Marcia was born in Shiawassee County, Michigan on September 28, 1937, the daughter of the late John J. Sr. and Grace L. (Gooding) Tune and was a resident of Clio for 50 years. She was a graduate of Bendle High School, Class of 1955. On July 10, 1959 she married Kenneth R. Jones and he preceded her in death in 1988. Marcia enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, but most of all her family. Her bowling team, the 1977 Blazers, were inducted into the Flint Bowling Hall of Fame in 2008. She was employed with McLaren General Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist. She was a member of Christ United Church and Bethany Methodist Church.
Surviving are sons, John Jones, David (Val) Jones and Timothy Jones;
daughters, Kimberly (Zach) Whaley and Barbara (Jeff) Hurand. She adopted and dedicated her retirement years raising her three great grandchildren, Justin, Cody and Cheyenne Jones;
sisters, Barbara Fielder and Dixie Walrath;
11 grandchildren, Melissa, Joshua, Kyle (Jenn), Stephanie (Dan), Steven, Eric, Christi, Ashley, Sabrina, Jennifer and Reyna;
19 great-grandchildren and one on the way;
and several nieces and nephews.
Marcia was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Jones, brother, John Tune, Jr., and her parents.
