GIBBS, Bobby “Bob” - Of Okemos, formerly of Flint, age 85 died Thursday, August 2, 2012 in Battle Creek.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Deacon Rod Amon officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
Visitation 12-3pm and 5-8pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Bob was born ion Risco, Missouri on July 1, 1927. He married Isabelle Babb on September 17, 1955 in Flint. He was a life member of Blue Lodge 458, the Bay City Consistory and Elf Khurafeh Shrine Temple. He was also a member of Capital Caravan Shrine Club and Capitaliers Consumers Power Retirement Organization. Mr. Gibbs was employed by Consumers Power Company for 38 years, retiring in 1987. He then worked for Consumers as a contract employee for an additional 14 years, retiring in 2001.
Surviving are daughters, Deborah Ann and husband Todd Desmarais of Willmette, Illinois and Nancy Lee Gibbs of Waterford, Ontario Canada;
sons, Kirk and wife Cindy Gibbs of Clawson and Scott Harrison and wife Nancy Gibbs of Potterville, Michigan;
grandchildren, Amy and Sean Gibbs, Daniel and Andrew Desmarais;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle, on June 27, 2002.
