Carol Joyce “Joy” Simmons of Davison age 75, died Monday August 19, 2013 at her residence, following her three bouts of cancer and an ongoing problem with congestive heart failure that she continued to battle. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday August 23, 2013 with Pastor Mark Kingen officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon Friday until time of services at the funeral home .A gathering of family and friends for a luncheon will follow the services at the American Legion Post 267 10309 Davison Rd. Davison. Those desiring may make contributions in Carol’s memory to the Elf Khurafeh Children transportation Fund. Carol was born in Flint, Michigan December 24, 1937 the daughter of the late: Raymon & Minnie (May) Heddy and has resided in the Davison area since the 1960’s. She was joined in marriage to Ronald C. Simmons on January 2, 1954. Carol was a member of Russellville Wesleyan Church, OES #299, and the Davison business Women’s Association. Carol owned and operated Supreme Painting with her husband until retiring in 2003. She also spent many hours as an assistant driver for crippled children transportation unit of the Elf Khurafeh Shrine. Surviving is husband Ron, children Jeffrey Simmons and Yvonne and husband Ron VanBeveran. Grandson Jeffrey Simmons Jr. Brother Wilber Heddy and Sister June Baxter, and many other relatives.
