Susan Mary Martens, 74, of Clio, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, September 13, 2020.
Susan was born February 26, 1946 in Oakland, California to the late Thomas J. Sr. and Loretta (Platt) Kremer. She married Robert (or as she called him Bobby) on January 12, 1963 in Kankakee, Illinois. She moved to Michigan in 1968. She was employed by Clio Area Schools as a bus driver for 26 years. She was an avid golfer and always looked forward to getting out on the course. Susan also belonged to many bowling leagues, enjoyed hunting, crocheting, ceramics and she enjoyed every moment she could with her family. After retiring Susan and Bobby moved to Oak Hill, FL in 1998 and returned to Clio in 2011 so they could be closer to the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years Robert; daughter Loretta (Craig) Kirbitz and son Randolph (Randy) Martens; she also leaves behind grandchildren Melissa (Jaccob) Kohn, Anna (Steven) Smith and Craig (Kelly Larsen) Kirbitz all of Clio; four great-grandchildren Jayden, Lydia, Ava and Isaac; sister Cathy (James) Kvedaras and sister-in-law Sheri Kremer and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Thomas J Kremer II.
A funeral mass will be 1:00pm Saturday, September 19th at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church, 230 E. Vienna Road, Clio. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Clio. Visitation will be 11:00am Saturday until the time of mass at church. Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon is handling the arrangements.
The family wishes to thank Heart to Heart Hospice of Flint for all they have done, you were truly a Godsend to us during this difficult time.
