Passed away Wednesday morning, April 16, 2014 at Memorial Healthcare in Owosso. Age 70 years. He was born on October 9, 1943 in Owosso. He was the son of John and Helen (Klein) Bishop. Bernard married Harriett (Brooks) Ustishen on November 10, 1990, she survives him. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and was a choir member for many years. He had been a farmer and also enjoyed bowling, card playing, going to the casino and especially music.
In addition to his loving wife Harriett he is survived by two children; Scott Bishop of New Jersey and Carla Green of Kentucky, two step children, Sharon (John) Bippus of Three Rivers and Susan (John) Dean of Michigan Center, four grandchildren, mother, Helen Bishop of Chesaning, brothers and sisters, Judy (Ernie) Birchmeier of New Lothrop, Ray (Eydie) Bishop of Chesaning, Bob (Kathy) Bishop of DeWitt, Ed (Diane) Bishop of Chesaning, Linda Jordan of Oakley, Becky (Bill) Bodnar of Chesaning, Sandy (Rick) Damveld of Dorr, Jackie Harris of Chesaning and also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John, sister, Cheryl and nephew, Jonathan Harris.
Funeral liturgy will be held 11:00 am Monday, April 21, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Maple Grove. Fr. Robert Byrne will officiate with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 20, 2014 from 1:00 to 8:00 pm at Walker-Martin Funeral Home, Chesaning; Scripture service will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday. www.wmartinfuneralhome.com |
