Biography
Robert Kent Young, 74 of Durand, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Durand Senior Care and Rehab Center.
A memorial service will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Durand on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Pastor John Walworth will officiate.
Robert was born in Owosso, MI on September 19, 1942, the son of Harry A. & Elaine Ruth (Kieffer) Young. He graduated from Durand High School in the class of 1960 and started working for General Motors where he was employed for 35 years before retiring. Robert worked in quality control in the Cam Department. On June 26, 1992 he married Patricia J. Liddle in Corunna, was a member of the Durand Eagles and Durand Moose Lodge, enjoyed hunting, fishing, just about anything to do with the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, children; James (Barbara) Young of Rankin, Nicholas (Liisa) Young of Calumet, Michael (Susan) Reimel of Pinckney, and Jennifer (WIlliam) Saint Amour of Charlotte, 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, brothers; Roy (Janet) Young of Durand and Richard (Janet) Young of Bancroft.
