TATE, Otto Junior “Bud” – Of Flushing, age 84, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Brian's House of Davison. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Brian’s House of Davison or Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Tate was born in Flint, Michigan on May 5, 1927, the son of Otto and Stella (Hyde) Tate. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. He was a member of Grand Blanc Lodge #571, F.&A.M. Otto and his wife, Margaret had been married for 47 years and she preceded him in death on August 19, 2011. Bud loved being with his family and raised his brothers and sisters. He played softball, loved to go fishing and enjoyed watching hockey. Mr. Tate was employed by General Motors. Surviving are sister, Judy (Nate) Climer; brother, Gerald (Barbara) Tate; brothers-in-law, William Tate, Nathan Puckett and Tommy Gathright; sisters-in-law, Joyce Tate and Clarice Tate; special niece, Candi Davenport; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
