KIRBY, Caroline Grace. – of Lapeer, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Genesys Regional Medical Center of Grand Blanc. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date with inurnment in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Caroline was born May 12, 1933 in Coylton, Michigan to the late J.D. and Bernice (Botsford) Convis. She married B.J. Kirby on August 3, 1953 in Angola, Indiana. Caroline was employed with the Davison Community School District for many years. She was a member of St Dunstan's Episcopal Church in Davison and was a lady Shriner for 40 years. Caroline enjoyed sewing, playing cards, and Bingo. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are: Husband, B.J. Kirby; Daughters: Sally Simmons, Carla (Cecil) Ward, and Berneice (Greg) Camp; Son, Lee (LaRae) Kirby; Grandchildren: Jennifer, Carrie, Kyle, Jonathan, Leslie, and Eli; Great grandchildren: Brenna, Lily, Nolan, and Spencer; Siblings: Donald Convis, Carl (Linda) Convis, and Marie Shultz; Sister in law, Marjorie Nichols. Caroline was preceded in death by: Grandson, Kevin Stanbaugh; Son in law, Norris Simmons; 3 sisters; 4 brothers.
