HAWKINS, Willard “Bill”, age 61, of Fenton, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018. Bill was born July 31, 1957 in Flint, the son of the late Calvin and Nellie (Kirk) Hawkins. Bill was a 1975 graduate of Hill-McCloy High School, Montrose. Bill married Barbara Joan Kramer on August 29, 1987 and they moved to Fenton where they have lived for 31 years. Bill was employed by General Motors Flint Assembly from 1977 to 2016 and was a member of UAW Local 598, Flint. Bill enjoyed living on the lake, biking the rail trails of Michigan, playing Euchre, was an avid reader and history buff. Bill was a loving husband and father and a good friend to many. He had an infectious laugh and quick wit. We will miss his sassy comments and tall tales.
Bill is survived by his loyal wife, Barbara; loving son, Eric John; siblings, Diane Spencer of Land of Lakes, FL, James Hawkins (Michele) of Lennon, Gary Hawkins (Nancy) of Saginaw, Sheryl Cumper (Dan) of Clio; cousin, Gene Kirk (Marge) of New Lothrop; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy Gibbs (Randy) of Montrose, Theresa Moffitt (Larry) of Swartz Creek, Daniel Kramer (Cathy) of Birch Run, Michael Kramer of Flushing, Patrick Kramer (Vicki) of St. Charles, Lesley Bates (James) of Flushing and many nieces and nephews; special friends, Jim and Linda Kennedy, Ben, Karina, Jen, Luke and Rob; and Bill’s Euchre family . He was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Jack Spencer and John Kramer.
Funeral Services will be 11AM Friday, November 30 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Burial will follow at Tyrone Memory Gardens, Fenton. Visitation will be 2-8PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN.org).
