TARRANT, Norine (Staley) – of Flushing, age 86, died Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Pastor Doug Klein officiating. Burial will be at Montrose Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County or Avalon Hospice.
Norine was born January 3, 1925 in Flint to the late Henry and Catherine (Major) Staley. She was a 1943 graduate of Montrose High School. Norine married Floyd Tarrant on March 11, 1944 in SC. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2006. Mrs. Tarrant was a medical assistant for 11 years for Dr. Detman then for 20 years for Dr. Owen, retiring in 1985. She was a resident of Montrose until 1990 when she moved to Flushing. She loved dogs and couldn’t turn away a stray dog. She was always willing to help out people in need. Norine enjoyed music and loved going to the casino.
Surviving are: several nieces and nephews; very close friends, Rosie Wittbrodt who helped Norine in difficult times, Sue and Rick Morgan who were special neighbors.
