I. Elaine (Renn) Wolverton - Age 88, of Gaines, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at her residence. Funeral Services 2:00 PM Friday, May 17, 2019 at Gaines United Methodist Church, 117 E. Clinton St., Gaines. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Gaines. Visitation 2-8 PM Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden and on Friday, May 17 from 12-2 PM at Gaines United Methodist Church, with service commencing at 2:00 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to Gaines United Methodist Church or Children's Miracle Network. Elaine was born May 20, 1930 at her parent's farm in Gaines, Michigan, the daughter of Windsor C. and Theo I. (Markley) Renn. She married Harold Wolverton July 3, 1948. Harold and Elaine built a home on her parent's farmland in 1967 where she has resided all of her life. Throughout her life she was active in Cub Scouts, Card Club, loved bingo, casino trips, gardening, shopping, dining out, crocheting, snowmobiling, enjoyed vacations with her family, and traveling with her husband in their motor home. She was a member of Gaines United Methodist Church. Surviving are four children, Dennis of Linden, David (Larry) of Flint, Darlene Ketchum of Swartz Creek, and Dawn Williams of Gaines. one sister, Joyce June Hill of Durand; five grandchildren, Heather Shumaker, Michelle Wolverton, Brandon Williams, Nicole Ketchum, and Breanna Ketchum; great-grandchildren, Justin Shumaker, Hope and Matthew Marme, Savannah and Rocky Donaldson; four great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
