Charles J. Miller of Flushing, age 81, died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at his home. A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Montrose. Fr. Paul Schwermer will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until time of Mass Monday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Activity Center or American Cancer Society.

Charles was born in Remus, MI on June 19, 1931, the son of Henry and Susan (Bauman) Miller. He married Marie Ann Leyder in Reed City, MI on April 18, 1953. He had worked at GM for 43 years, retiring in 1995 and was a member of the U.A.W. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Charles is survived by: wife, Marie; four children, Debbie and husband Jeff Mann of Grand Blanc, Marvin and wife Pam Miller of Flushing, Bruce and wife Becky Miller of Saginaw, Patsy and husband Jeff Phegley of Fenton; eight grandchildren, Amanda O’Boyle, Brian and Stacy Mann, Abbey and Allie Miller, Brian, Kiel, and Clint Phegley; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Bertha Rhoades, Vince and wife Carol Miller, Helen and husband Max Griggs; brother-in-law, Don Royce; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dianna O’Boyle; and sister, Clothy Royce.
