ALLEN, Harvey S. - Of Cornelius, NC formerly of Grand Blanc, age 90, died Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Novant Hospital in Huntersville, NC
A graveside service will be held 1pm Friday, June 14, 2024 at Evergreen Cemetery, 3415 East Hill Road, Grand Blanc.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Celebration Lutheran Church, St. Johns, Florida.
Harvey was born in Henderson, Michigan on October 13, 1933, the son of the late Roy and Lillian Allen. He was a resident of Burton and Grand Blanc, MI prior to retiring to Ocala and St. Johns, Florida. Mr. Allen recently moved with his daughter, Deborah, and son-in-law to Charlotte, NC. He married Betty L. Neal on July 30, 1960 in Lansing, MI. Harvey was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc, MI and Celebration Lutheran Church of St. Johns, FL. He served on the Atherton School Board for 5 years and served as the County Commissioner for Shiawassee County for 2 years. Harvey was employed and an Accountant at Applegate Chevrolet from 1979-1999, where he was recognized many times by Chevrolet Motors for achievements and quality work.
Surviving are daughter, Deborah J. Allen-Shifflett and husband Carl Lee Shifflett Jr. of Cornelius, NC;
grandson, Kevin Sneed of Jacksonville, FL;
and sister, Dorothy Scherer of Owosso, MI.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty in 2016 and his son, Larry Allen in 1989.
