ADAMS, Thomas E. – of Flushing, age 72, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A Funeral Service will be held 6:30 PM Monday, September 30, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery 9 AM Tuesday, October 1, 2019. Visitation will be from 11 AM -1 PM and 3 PM until the time of service on Monday at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rogel Cancer Melanoma Clinic.

Thomas was born in Flint, MI on April 1, 1947, son of the late Donald and Martha (Bowden) Adams. He was raised by Orval and Martha Auten. Thomas proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Bronze Star for his heroic achievement. He married Carol Taylor on May 23, 1970 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Flint. Thomas retired from GM Chevy Truck & Bus after more than 35 years of service. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #4087 and most recently Post #822. He was also a member of American Legion Post #0283. Thomas enjoyed camping, fishing and playing drums. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Michelle (Chad) Leazier and Angela Nichols; grandchildren, Tristen Adams and Christian Nichols; siblings, Deborah (Dan) Smith, Laurie (Steve) Turner, James Auten and Karen (Dan) Ogden; many nieces and nephews.
