SCHARICH, Barbara - Of Burton, age 81, died Friday, June 2, 2017 at her residence. Funeral service will be held 11am Monday, June 5, 2017 Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3222 South Genesee Road, Burton, Reverend Dan Wonderly officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Flint Women and Girls Fund of Greater Flint. Visitation 1-8pm Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Time of Sharing will be at 7pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Monday at church until the time of the service. Barbara was born in Owendale, Michigan on June 9, 1935, the daughter of the late Roland and Mary Kretzschmer and she was a resident of Flint most of her life. She married Richard Scharich in April of 1954 and he preceded her in death in 2008. Barbara was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. She owned and operated Barb’s Income Tax Service for 49 years.
Surviving are 4 children, Donald, Brenda (Jim) Besant, Tracy Jones and Scott; 5 grandchildren, Rodney (Shawna) Jenny, Brian (Jamie), Justin, and Patrice; 4 great-grandchildren, Alexys, Connor, Lianna and Jameson; sister, Sharron; several nieces and nephews; and special grand dogs, Abbie and Jack. She was preceded in death by brother, Donald, sister, Betty Jane Kretzschmer and son-in-law, Ross Jones. Your condolences may be shared with the family at swartzfuneralhomeinc.com
