GATICA, Gene – of Mt. Morris, age 68 died Monday, June 4, 2018 at Hurley Medical Center. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, June 8, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation.
Gene was born July 4, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan to Sipriano “Joe” and Maria Guadalupe (Romo) Gatica. He grew up in Mt. Morris and graduated from Beecher High School with the class of 1969. Gene worked for GM at the Chevy Plant for several years. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Gene enjoyed fishing, wrestling, and was a Beatles Fan. He enjoyed all sports, however spending time with his family was his greatest joy in life.
Surviving are: Father, Sipriano “Joe” Gatica; Siblings, Linda Gatica, Janie (Dave) Phaneuf, Sarah Gatica, Teresa Holifield, Karen (James Slaght) Gatica; Nieces and Nephews, Celia (Robert) Dell, Holly Gatica, Angie Gatica, Belinda (James) Allen, Eugene (Amy) Gatica, Jesse (Stacy) Gatica, Robert (Katie) Gatica, Alex (Jacklynn) Holifield; multiple Great Nieces and Nephews, and extended family.
