Myers, Hope of Flushing, age 90, died Monday, April 22, 2019, at McLaren-Flint. Funeral services will be 12 noon, Friday, April 26, 2019, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Brent Kriesch will officiate. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Pets in Peril or any other pet non-profit organization.
Hope was born in Flint, Michigan on December 27, 1928, the youngest of five children born to John and Cecilia (Horton) Cobb. She married James Miller on November 6, 1947 and together had three children. James preceded her in death in October of 1987. She then married Neil Ward and he also preceded her in death. Hope later married Donald Myers, who survives her.
Hope graduated from Hurley School of Nursing and was employed by the Genesee County Health Department for 30 years. As a young nurse, Hope travelled to Honduras to aid with medical missions. Hope enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens, bird watching and traveling. She was a member of Faith Missionary Church for many years. Hope volunteered as a Docent at Sloan Museum. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Hope is survived by her husband, Donald Myers; children, Jim and wife Debbie Miller, Gail and husband Steven Hoffman, Marcie and husband Dave Seyfried; grandchildren, Kelly (Keith) Edmonds, Adryan (James) Martin, Beth (Dan) Roman, Ahren (Dieter) Eichler, Sean (Taylor) Hoffman, Jake (Marcos Sermeno) Dobbs, Riley (Savannah) Dobbs, Celia Dobbs, Becky (Steve) DeKraker, Jeff (Stacy) Seyfried, Frank Kiacz, Jason (Shelley) Kiacz; great-grandchildren, Saydi, Kennedy, Nicholas, Andrew, Chandler, Ben, Micah, Zach, Abby, Kenna, Quinn; several step-children and many step-grand and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Stella.
