Robert "Bob" Key
Age 88 of Owosso passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
Funeral Services will be held 2pm Saturday January 13, 2018 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Strawser officiating. Burial will take place at Flint Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service.
Robert was born August 11, 1929 in Jackson, the son of Henry and Gracie (Jackson) Key.
He graduated from Northside High School in Jackson, Tennessee in 1948, he then attended West Tennessee Business College, Mott Community College and then completed the Dale Carnegie Course.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division for five years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 81. Robert was also an avid golfer and got a hole-in-one at Chippewa Hills in 2001.
He married LaDonna Mae Maynard in Flint on October 4, 1952.
Robert worked at McDonald Dairy in Flint for 15 years and also at Genesee County Road Commission as an Equipment Operator for 27 years.
Robert is survived by his wife LaDonna; his son Montgomery (Ivonne) Key; grandchildren Matthew (Amber) Key, Stephanie (Evan) Wildey; great-grandchildren Taylor Key, Collin Key, Allison Key and Evalyn Wildey; sister-in-law Dorothy Key; several nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.
He was predeceased by his infant son Matthew Neil Key; his parents; brothers Alvy, Walter, William and Floyd; sisters Mary Ruth Henley and Helen West.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Owosso.
