EGGERS, Leanore M. – age 89, passed away August 6, 2013. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, August 9, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6336 Roberta St., Burton; Rev. Fr. Carl Simon celebrant. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice.
Leanore was born in Flint, MI on February 24, 1924, daughter of the late Stanley and Bernice (Fairgrieve) Havens. She married Elmer Eggers and he preceded her in death. Leanore was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Altar Society, St. Ann’s Guild, Blessed Pauline Guild, Daughters of Isabella Regina Coeli Circle # 1095, Lector and Eucharistic Minister and Stephen Minister. Leanore enjoyed camping, traveling, crocheting, embroidering, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She worked for AC Spark Plug, Smith Bridgman’s Department Store and retired from the U.S. Post Office in 1989 after 25 years of service.
Leanore is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Williams of Fenton, Margaret (Richard) Simpson of Rochester Hills, Lisa (Mathew) Monahan of Florida; sons, George (Reberta) Brown of Fenton, Paul (Jan) Spokane of Washington, Gordon (Robin) Brown of Flint; stepson, Allen (Diane) Eggers of Grand Blanc; stepdaughter, Donna (Walter) Wysopal of Saginaw; 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Ralph A. Brown and sister, Loraine Murray.
